Happy New Year!
We are really looking forward to everything we
have coming up in 2026! We have so much planned for the
community and need you all to continue to show up and support
the events! Volunteering, sharing details online, donations,
attending events are all important parts of making our
community events happen. We hope you have a great year too 😀

Christmas at
Bushmead Hub
|
|
|
Christmas 2025 at the Hub was a real testament
to working together as a community to achieve great things.
We had support from Good Gym, Bushmead Christ Church, Local
Community Members, Luton Council, Bushmead Community Shop,
Bushmead Pharmacy, Coop Bushmead, The Head Shed, Beauty Q,
CJ’s Cafe, The Round Bush and Pandora (Luton Point), Luton
Brass Band and of course our wonderful staff and volunteers
and more! We had such great turnout for all our Christmas
events and it was amazing to see the Hub buzzing with local
people.

Our annual Young at Heart party was a great
success. The raffle raised over £100 for our ongoing
renovations. If you would like to fundraise or donate
yourself, see our fundraiser link below.

This year we introduced a Christmas Crafternoon
for the younger members of the Bushmead community. It was
very popular and helped us all get in the crafty festive
spirit.

|
|
|
|
We also worked with Luton Council and the
Fairness Task Force to have a Christmas tree this year. Our
light turn on was a great success with support from Local
Businesses and people.

Our Hub was beautifully decorated this year by
our talented staff, the attendees of our crafternoon and the
children of Bushmead Primary school. A huge thank you to all,
it has really brightened up the Hub this winter!

As part of our Wilder Luton project, we have
been working with local film makers Abi Spendlove and Greta
Zabulyte to create a short film that showcases the chalk
hills found in and around Luton. We will be showing this
film, and another they made in 2024 about the River Lea, at
the Luton Library Theatre on Thursday 26th
February, 7.30-9.30pm.
Both films feature the late Trevor Tween, who
was so instrumental in looking after these beautiful
habitats, so the evening will also be an opportunity to
celebrate his life as well as Luton’s landscapes. There is a
small fee for attending this event, but any money raised will
go towards supporting the efforts of volunteers who help to
manage Luton’s green spaces.
